Richard's Diary.......ISSF World Cup London 2012

On Thursday 26th April a few of us from CPSA HQ attended the ISSF World Cup event at the Royal Artillery at Woolwich. This event is part of the London Prepares series, the London 2012 sports testing programme helping LOCOG test its operations ahead of the Olympic & Paralympic Games.

The venue contains one rifle/pistol qualification range for 10m & 50m events, one rifle/pistol qualification range for 25m events, one rifle/pistol finals hall for 10m, 25m & 50m events and three combined trap & skeet shotgun ranges.

Being clay shooters we spent most of our time watching the multiple nationalities shooting the Olympic Trap discipline and being amazed at their skills considering the weather conditions varied from strong winds, too rain, too both. The orange clays flashed green when hit which was impressive from a spectators viewpoint. I must admit Pete & I were itching to have a go at one or two.....!

It was great to see a few of our Team GB Shooters in action and we wish them success in the selection process for the Olympics. We managed to get piccys of a few in action but apologies for those we missed.
