The Clubman Classic League is well under way now with our
two pilot Leagues Kent/Sussex and Hampshire progressing nicely. Each League is
an inter-Club Sporting competition for C Class & Unregistered Shooters and the
participating Clubs are competing over 6 fixtures to be crowned Overall League
Winners. It’s an individual competition aswell as a team one and as such the
title of Overall High Gun is also up for grabs and on the evidence so far is
being hard fought for….!
It’s also becoming very obvious that the participating teams
are thoroughly enjoying themselves and the opportunity to shoot at different
venues whilst working hard to ensure home advantage and the feedback has been
really positive which is excellent. The shooters are recognising each other and
the banter is slowly beginning to flow and it’s becoming something of a social
event which will hopefully help ensure the League returns next year and the
year after and so on.
With only 2 fixtures left to go in the Kent/Sussex League it’s becoming very close at the top with the Greenfields Shooting Ground Team just 21 hits ahead of Normanhurst Clay Pigeon Shoot’s Team and Northall Clay Pigeon Clubs Team are snapping at their heels so it’s to shoot for.
In Hampshire we still have 3 fixtures to go with Southampton
Arms Shooting Society the early leaders just 12 ahead of the Owls Lodge
Shooting School team and with the Fareham Clay Pigeon Club team only a few
behind them so again the top spot could change at the next fixture very easily…….!
